You’ve probably heard a lot about Web 2.0. Everyone’s telling you how big and important it is. Well I’m here to tell you Web 2.0 is overrated. I’m not bashing it, I’m just telling you like it is. It’s totally overrated and don’t put too much into it or you’ll just be disappointed.
On the other hand news groups and forums have been around forever. You can leave all the hype and go back to news groups and forums that a lot of people have forgotten about.
People always want to get together with other people to talk about certain topics. There are Yahoo groups for everything you can imagine and more.
There are groups for people in certain areas geographically, there are groups for every type of problem you can think of, there are groups for discussions on politics, news, problems, family, hobbies, fun, money, jobs, health, and more.
Yahoo groups are completely free. You can start a group for free or join for free. It’s a great way to meet new people who are interested in the same things you are.
You can reach a lot of people with these groups. Find some active, large groups in a niche you are into and negotiate with the owner. This isn’t some jv crap, you have to negotiate just like you would with a major businesses offline in the real world.
So get in there and find those active groups where you can reach tons of people and have your business boom while others are still playing around with web 2.0.
Doing this, you can be seen by lots of people who are interested in your website without the crazy high costs of pay per click.
Here’s a riddle for you. What’s an advertising method that’s been around for a long time? It’s an old marketing method, but it’s not dead. In fact, it’s still going strong.
Yellow Pages
The yellow pages have been around since the 1800s and don’t count on them dying out. Everyone still gets the yellow pages every year and now they are online too.
When people need some local services, the first place they go is to the yellow pages. Now yellow pages aren’t cheap, know that. They just know how many people rely on the yellow pages to find local businesses. The majority of people.
Like all ads, you want to make yours eye catching. Make a catchy title and it should be in all bold letters to get people’s attention. Get the most bang for your buck.
Pictures of people also grab attention. Like for all the ads of doctors, lawyers, and plumbers, people first pay attention to the ads with a picture of a person. If you are placing the type of ad where you can put your picture or another picture of a person, then that will grab peoples attention ahead of all the other ads and they will be more likely to contact you first.
Sometimes you can add colors to your ad, but this is more expensive and probably won’t have much of an impact. Just stick to the regular black.
Remember the keys-
*Bold letters for the title. But don’t use all CAPS, because it’s harder to read and people don’t like READING ALL CAPS.
*Catchy title and phrase
*Stand out from boring ads
*Add a picture if you can
Like I said before, Yellow Pages aren’t cheap so if they didn’t work, people wouldn’t be buying them. People are buying them year after year after year because it works! It simply gets a lot of attention, otherwise people would just save their money. But many businesses can add a lot of business by all the exposure they get from yellow pages. Always ask about online yellow pages too, you want to make sure an online listing is included with an regular yellow pages ad.
There’s one more Old One to return in the marketing morse code, can you guess what it is?
Some people say banner ads don’t work, but they don’t know what they’re talking about cause then why are there so many banner ads out there? Because they don’t work? Come on! Nobody is dumb enough to keep paying for something that doesn’t work. If banner ads didn’t work, then you wouldn’t see them everywhere. People keep buying banner ad spots because they work!
So let’s say you have a website ready to earn you cash and it just needs one important thing-traffic. A great way to get lots of traffic is by having a banner ad on a site that gets a lot of traffic of people into your niche.
Now you don’t want some boring ad or one nobodys gonna see. A good way to display banner ads is to make them not look like a banner ad. You can make them look like a coupon. Who doesn’t like coupons? Put something really interesting on it that makes people want to click to see what it’s all about.
Or make it look like some hot report. Give it a catchy title. 10 Hottest Tips to ….
3 Top Ways To….
How to … In 3 days guaranteed!
Location, location. You want your ad in the best location. Don’t get an ad that’s below the fold. You want as many people to see your ad as possible. You don’t want them to have to keep scrolling down before they see your ad. And most people are blind to ads at the very top. Of course you’re trying to get peoples attention!
Just like if you were running an Adwords campaign you have to track your ads. Run them on different sites and see which site brings the most clicks then focus on advertising on that site. You definitely want the ad on the right kind of site. The good thing about banner ads is you don’t pay per click like Adwords. You either pay per impression or pay a flat fee per month. Check in to see how much traffic these ads are bringing you. Make 2 different ads and track which one gets the best response. Track and improve. Drop what doesn’t get good results and when you find out what works best keep doing more of it to bring in more profits.
A lot cheaper than adwords, more click for the buck.
Hey peeps..Been awhile since I blogged..Life’s been a Roller Coaster ride for the last few weeks. For those close to me,you might have heard about the brutal rape and murder of a female relation of mine 2 weeks ago.
The perpertrators have been caught and I hope that the poor girl’s soul can rest easy now.Im sure shes in a better place and god bless her soul.
Anyways,I can now rest easy knowing that chapter of my life can now be closed and I shall try and move on(as best as I can).
A word out to those who have been asking.Yes,the above mentioned reason was why I couldn’t go to JV Alert even after getting the airplane tickets, booking the hotel and such and also why I have postponed my launch to the end of july.
Ok,the topic today im going to help you guys with is-“The Return of the Old Ones”.
No…Its not some hypobolic Death of Adwords/Adsense/Internet Marketing Report thing that has been done to death. This is the REAL thing.
I see many people give up easily when they get their Google Adwords account Slapped, their SEO not yeilding enough results to justify the costs, their Article Marketing being a complete waste of time and the new overplayed Web 2.0 marketing(read Facebook,Digg,Youtube) falling flat on its face.
Well, that’s because those stuff lose their effectiveness due to the saturatedness of their use. When one person knows Kungfu, hes feared. When everyone knows Kungfu, hes just a dime a dozen.
So what happens when new methods fail you?You go to the old tried and tested that people seem to have forsaken way too fast.
Anyone watched Transformers?
What about Terminator 3?
In both those movies, when technology came to a standstill, when they couldn’t use the phones or the internet what did te characters do?they went back to the old tried and tested..
Morse Code!!
So lets talk about the 3 branches of the Marketing Morse Code..
1)Magazines
Yes.Magazine Ads..
Sweet Jesus, don’t Magazine Ads cost a Bomb?
Nope..Not if you know what you’re doing.
Arent Search Engine traffic worth waaay more than magazines?
Nope..I would rather have paying customers of targetted magazines looking at my ads rather than freebie information seekers downloading stuff from their school’s internet access.
The number one rule to have magazine ads work for you is first choosing the appropriate magazine that targets the Demographic that you want. For example if you are selling a dating product for males 18-35 you would choose magazines such as FHM,Maxim,Men’s Health and Torque.
Secondly take note that in the real world, all business is Negotiation. How well you negotiate is how much you make from a deal, including advertisements.Dont take the ad rates from the magazines media kit at face value.
You have to put across to the magazine that you are a serious advertiser who knows what he ones,is in for the long haul, and you know how everything works.
Take for example Maxim magazine.I am currently in negotiation with them to advertise one of my products on their pages. The media kit rate they gave me was $5000 for a full page full color ad.
Through the use of Persuasive Negotiating, they are now offering me $3000 for the same ad, Exclusive rights (meaning only I can advertise for the said genre,so no knockoffs who can copy me and steal my thunder),and three writeups in a year on my product.
I reduced the rate by almost half(am intending to reduce further),got exclusivity(protect my investment),and get massive publicity by being interviewed by such a mainstream magazine.
Maxim has got a audited circulation of 40,000 readers.Assuming I sell my product at $50,I need 60 people out of the 40,000 to buy to break even.Thats 0.0015% to break even.
With the proper sales copy(Direct Response),I should be able to get a 1 Percent Buy rate, which is 400 people to buy, that would give me $20,000 for every $3000 I spend.
This is not mentioning, any backends, upsells, recurring billing that I can do(and I will do) to further enhance my profits which could realistically leave me with $40,000-$60,000 for every $3000 I spend.
I Know..I Know..You EBay people are probably seething with RAGE right now.We just lost our online income totally because of damn EBay and this guy is saying its a blessing in Disguise? What Did Shree Smoke this time???
Well..In this Day and Age,if you people can afford to put all your eggs in one basket(which by the way,you dont even own),then you guys deserve to lose your wealth. If i have said it once,i have said it a thousand times.DIVERSIFY..All mediums get crowded at one point or the other(think magazine, radio, televisons),so those relying on one main source will always dies out in business.
Putting all your eggs in 1 basket..Never a good idea..
Ok lets get down to business.EBay has been fast and furious with the bringing out of its new “EBay Slaps”,a term used only for Google and their Pay Per Click policy changes til now.
1st they changed the feedback system(Buyer can leave Bad feedback but Seller cannot),then they came out with the reducing of the insertion fee,but increasing the final fees so we end up paying more. By the way did anyone realise,we pay insertion fee, then final fee, then paypal transaction fee(EBAY owns paypal by the way) and then when we convert the money,Paypal always gives us shitty conversion rates.Thats like paying for a transaction 4 freaking times.Well, thats EBay for you.
Now they come up with the No Digital Delivery Items on All Auction Items, and all Digital Delivery items have to be thrown into the EBay Classified Ads for $9.95 a month.
Well,EBay for once did the right thing. They’re hands were forced by the lowest scumbags of the online world. The Sellers of the $1 Ebooks,THOSE parasites. These parasites are just like the spammers of Digg and Stumbleupon. They move from resource to resource, suck its usability dry and when its usefulness has diminished, they move on to the next resource.By the way,if you’re one of them, the picture below is EXACTLY what i think of you.
The Sentinel From the Matrix
Well the good thing is,these parasites, selling one dollar ebooks for a quick buck will do a mass exodus from EBay,because obviously they have no brains to come up with solutions and that will leave smart marketers like me and you(i hope) with a hell lot of area to play with.
With the Coming Exodus,Smart Marketers Will Dominate Once Again
So for all you people out there,i have made a video to show you how to actually profit from this ordeal(because im nice),and come out richer then before. So watch the video, take action and be nice as well. How?you may ask..Well,to start off, giving comments to my posts and subscribing for my upcoming Product Launch(see top right hand corner of blog) would be a good way.lol..So go do that;)
Shree Kay
P.S Oops.Almost forgot the video..Its below..So check it out yeah..Peace..
Hey fellas. Shree here once again.Just a rant for you guys out there today.First thing, for all the new guys (and ladies:)) out there in the Internet Marketing landscape; get this clear guys.Internet Marketing is not a GET RICH QUICK Scheme.
Im sure some of you guys out there would be sniggering”sneer sneer ,this was the big secret??like duh!!we already knew that dum dum..we are already making hundreds or thousands per month, and we have been for a few months now..So tell us something else will you!!”Well if thats all you ever wanna earn thru internet marketing,hey..thats fine by me..But if you want to earn some serious cash online(and continue to) then do listen up. I am not talking about whether Internet Marketing is a Get Rich Quick Scheme or not, what i am saying is that there are tens of thousands of Internet Marketers treating this industry as such.
Freebie seeking crowd, mining blogs and forums daily rather then investing.
What does this crazy cuckoo saying??Doesnt he ever get to the point??some of you guys must be wondering.. Sorry guys, taking English Literature in college did this thing to me…Crazy times, with some really hot girls.. hmm…. hmm.. hmm..
Anyways, back to the point i was trying to make. You go to any other revenue making industry and the mindset is totally different. The Real Estate industry for one.Guys there invest Big Bucks on property that gives them a 10 percent R.O.I(Return On Investment) in a one year period.Which means that there are guys out there in the world who put in money that they recoup only 10 percent per year.
It takes them TEN years to recoup everything on that particular investment, and they gladly do it.Not once, not twice,But multiple times. In the Insurance industry,i personally know guys who invest tremendously on seminars, workshops, etc etc where they would only get the returns on the money spent in a few years time.and they are happy about it.However,a worrying trend emerges amongst a certain portion of the Internet Marketing world.
I see and hear guys everyday saying they already know everything there is to know about Internet Marketing and they do not need to invest any further. They will just read the forums and blogs for free info.(I spoke to one audacious Gentleman in a recent Internet Marketing seminar who told me his reason for not signing up for my friend’s Seminar was because he already knows everything about Internet Marketing, its all about the list and traffic…)Bravo..You read an ebook or two and now everyones an Expert. They try to come across sounding like the well informed “insider” but they come across more like the picture below.
What im saying is this. If you are serious about making serious money online, you guys have to start investing. Im not saying to go buy every WSO or cheap looking info products out there and to believe that any of it would be the miracle pill. Im saying, make informed decisions and invest some money into Quality products once every month or two.
How do you make informed decisions??Simple..Go subscribe to the lists of Big time marketers and Gurus that you personally trust. Why?Because these guys know they cannot afford to recommend crappy products and risk offending their lists. And if you happen to be hoodwinked by any of them. Then just shoot them an email saying that and UNSUBSCRIBE.
There are a few guys that i trust as their products(and their recommendations) have skyrocked my online income more then any.Talking about guys like John Reese(The man who made a million in a day),Jeff Walker (6 Figures in 7 days dude) and of course Frank Kern(Mister Mass Control).
I have personally bought everything John Reese has ever came out with, produced and/or recommended. Traffic Secrets?Check…Reese Reports?Check..Auction Secrets? Check..IMA Webinar?Check..
It was through Reese(about whom there will be a separate Blog post soon) that i got to know about Jeff Walker and bought his Product Launch Formula. And it was through Jeff that i got to know about the genius that was Frank Kern and got his Mass Control Stuff.
How much have i spent on info products?Well..About $20,000-$25,000..Give or take.
How much has that benefitted me?Well,i made $150,000 in profits in one year online(recently lost that sum,but that was due to a family crisis and nothing to do with my business side)..So i made roughly 8 times the amount i spent in a year, thats a 800 PERCENT RETURN ON INVESTMENT in one year.Thats better then winning the lottery mate.
Well, its 4 in the morning now,so have to go get my shut eye(Are ALL IMers creatures of the night??)..Will leave you guys with this video of this awesome girl on youtube singing her version of Linkin park’s What I’ve Done.Enjoy and tok to you guys again.Nitez..
It was bound to happen in any business. My one and a half year run using internet marketing to amass $150,000 plus in savings came to a screeching halt two days ago.My greatest naysayer of my business(my Dad),got into some legal troubles, and to prevent him from going behind bars and turning the household upside down, guess who had to pay up for him.Yup,no matter what, family comes first, and so yeah,my entire savings from my online endeavors,WIPED OUT.Zilch.But strangely enough, instead of demoralizing me,this issue has pumped me up.Cause i know and belief deep inside, that i can get back all that i lost within a short time period if i put my heart, body, mind and soul into it.
Its never the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog that counts and i LOVE to fight.I really do.See picture below:)

I am also a firm believer that your network determines your net worth and my journey in the internet marketing industry has led me to many friendships forged with some very cool guys;people like Stuart Tan,Andrew Wee,Jaz Lai,Fabian Lim,Ryan Chua, Ming Chern,Jhong Ren,Calvin Woon,Connie and of course our very own Ebay Guru,Big Ben.
At Big Ben’s Book Launch at Adam Khoo Learning Technologies
Speaking with Big Ben over dinner yesterday got me thinking, and inspiration hit me.There is one way i can help myself get back the $150,000 by helping others as well.By doing a full scale product launch and utilizing the power of Joint Ventures and Affiliates.
Ben suggested why not follow him to JV Alert Live in Philadelphia where i can meet up with JV partners and then launch my product, but i thought to myself,if i do a successful launch before going for JV alert, wont it not give me better leverage? At least there will be more things i can offer them and look at it in a “Whats In It For Them” view as opposed to what i can gain from them.So thats what i intend to do.
Project:High Octane Marketing is now in the works and will be launched in June 30th,a whole 2 week after the JV Alert in Philly.Watch this space.
Will leave you guys with this quote from Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich and one of my favorite “Pump me up” music videos..Seeya..
